City of Sisseton Garbage Service
The City of Sisseton utilizes the Roberts County Landfill as the source of disposal of all municipal solid waste.  The RC Landfill has separate areas where they allow different types of waste material.  Within the municipal solid waste site, general household waste material such as paper, plastic, glass, cardboard and food waste is accepted.  There are other areas within the RC Landfill that do accept other items but those items are not included in City garbage service.
Other areas within the Roberts County Landfill consist of:
Metal Pile/White Goods:  Any items 90% metal or more (iron, tin, aluminum), stoves, refrigerators, etc. (freon must be removed from cooling systems)
Bulk Waste:  This consists mostly of furniture (couches, recliners, mattresses, carpet, etc.)  NO TV’S, STEREOS, PLASTICS OR CARDBOARD.
Construction Waste:  Acceptable items include concrete, bricks, sheetrock, plaster, shingles, tar paper.
Other Products with separate locations:  Tires, Batteries, Waste Oil

Any of these items that are not part of municipal garbage service can be taken to the RC Landfill on your own.  For any additional information contact City Hall at 698-3391 or the Roberts County Landfill at 698-7362.

City residents can bring lawn clippings, leaves and branches to the Sisseton Rubble Site.  Rubble Site operations are seasonal, typically opening Mid-April through Mid-October weather permitting on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm.
