The City of Sisseton Water Department will be flushing hydrants from April 29th to May 10th. This procedure can make the water appear temporarily rusty/brown because the iron and mineral deposits in the water get stirred up. The water is safe to use and consume during hydrant flushing. Please check your faucets before doing your laundry as it may stain your clothing. You can clear the system by simply running the water for a few minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this routine maintenance of the water lines.
