The Sisseton Arts Council and Heritage Museums of the Coteau des Praries will be showcasing local handcrafts this summer with their art exhibit, "Common Threads of America,” at the Nicollet Tower and Stavig House Museum. We need your help to get the word out to the local quilters, beadworkers, crocheters, embroiderers, and any other handcrafters that you know to show off their work, so please share this post. See the flyers below for more information. Starting July 10th for Celebrate Sisseton Days through September, these works will be on display. Also, a “Meet the Artists” gathering on Sunday, July 12th from 5-7pm.

Head on down to Dakota Pawn parking lot from 10am to 1pm this Saturday, June 13th to safely and securely dispose of your unwanted papers. Old bank statements, junk mail, any papers you want to get rid of. They will be turned into paper towels and toilet paper, so that's an added bonus!

Hey there amazing folks of the Sisseton area! After much deliberation today, the Sisseton Area Chamber of Commerce Board has decided to CANCEL the first ever Hotdish Throwdown. Mother Nature has an impending storm that is coming through our area this weekend, and we felt the safety of our community is more important than winning the "Golden Spatula" at the competition. We were hoping to reschedule, but with so many great community events and happenings coming up, we'll just have to wait until next year to see who has the best hotdish in town! Thank you so much everyone for understanding and we wholeheartedly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Competitors and vendors will be notified shortly.

The Sisseton Area Chamber of Commerce's first ever "Hotdish Throwdown" is happening Saturday, March 14th at Family Life Assembly of God Church from 5-7pm. A wide variety of delicious hotdishes, casseroles, and goulashes, live music, games for the kids, desserts, drinks, and craft vendors all going down in 2 weeks!
